The Best Job in the World? Why a Child Wants to Become a 'Senior Citizen'
In a classroom full of bright-eyed kids, a teacher asked a classic question with a slight twist:
“What do you want to become in the future? And what do you NOT want to become?”
While most kids talked about becoming astronauts, doctors, or avoiding homework, one little child’s brilliant answer brought an instant smile to everyone's face. 😊
In this child's pure, innocent imagination, being a “Senior Citizen” seemed like the most luxurious, joyful, and liberating phase of human life!
Here is what the child wrote in their essay:
Blockquote>“I don't want to become a President…
I don't want to become a Doctor…
I don't want to become a Scientist…
None of these.
The biggest wish of my life is — To become a Senior Citizen! Because it is so much fun!”
Why did the child find it so amazing? They based it entirely on watching their beloved grandfather's daily routine:
- Wakes up late in the morning.
- Takes a cozy nap anytime in the afternoon.
- Watches TV peacefully and goes to sleep early by evening.
- No endless homework, no stressful exams, and no tuition classes.
- If there is no work to do, he just sits under a tree to enjoy the cool breeze or heads to the park to play chess with his friends.
- He can play video games for as long as he wants — and absolutely no one scolds him!
- Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, warm milk in the evening — life is completely wonderful!
- Free travel on public buses, and to top it off, kind-hearted people always stand up to offer him their seat.
- He gets half-price discount tickets on trains and in movie theaters.
- He can eat whatever cravings he has — no one stops him.
- He gets to sing songs, dance, paint, play the piano or trumpet, climb mountains, and go trekking whenever he pleases.
- As long as there is some money in his pocket, he can pack a bag and travel anywhere!
“That's why becoming a senior citizen is truly wonderful!” 😄
💡 Life Lesson & Inspiration:
Sometimes, senior citizens themselves might forget or overlook just how much freedom, peace, and unique blessing they have earned in this stage of their lives. It takes the untainted eyes of a child to remind us that aging isn't a burden—it's a hard-earned reward.
❤️ Dedicated to all our wonderful senior citizens with endless love and respect. 🌹
